This year's Xiangshan Seafood Festival opened yesterday at Ningbo Shipu Port. The five-day festivity not only sells a great variety of seafood products at discount prices, but also presents exhibitions, performances and fishery tours.

A cooking contest was held yesterday as part of the festival and 38 restaurants in Ningbo joined the competition. The jury selected 10 dishes for prizes. Chefs skilled in Xiangshan-style seafood cooking presented 16 new dishes at the culinary contest.
