Six enterprises from Shanxi province made this year's Fortune China 500 list.

Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group topped the rankings in Shanxi, listed 85th among the 500 enterprises.

Shanxi Coal International Energy Group ranked 149th, followed by Xishan Coal Electricity Group taking the 284th place. Yangmei Chemical, Yangquan Coal Industry Group and LuAn Environmental Energy Development Company were also listed, ranking 298th, 316th and 438th respectively.

Enterprises entering Fortune China 500 are selected from listed companies, with annual revenue above 9.608 billion yuan.

Sinopec, PetroChina and China State Construction were the top three of this year's rankings.

Fortune magazine, owned by Time Warner, first published the list in 1954 and releases the world top 500 companies annually.
