A medical team formed by Datong No 3 People's Hospital and Changzhi People's Hospital has recently headed for Cameroon to help enhance local medical service.
It's the first time that Shanxi independently has organized a medical team to aid an African country.
The team was made up of 25 members in orthopedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture from the two hospitals.
During the one-year trip, the medical team will train medical staff members of the local Yaounde Women and Children's Hospital and Mbalmayo Hospital as well as offer medical services to local patients, people in the Chinese embassy in Cameroon and Chinese-funded institutions.
