Can China regain its status as the 'bicycle kingdom'?

I don't think it is necessary to "bring back the bicycle," but I believe it is vital that the Chinese government promote "clean" technologies, like electric cars and other vehicles. At the same time, it would do no harm to encourage people to ride their bicycles whenever possible, as it promotes health and saves the environment.

With the promotion of "clean" technologies come challenges, like how to generate electricity without polluting the environment. I hope the Chinese will continue to be a world leader in research and development of environmentally friendly technologies.
