A villager from Bozhou, Anhui province, has been detained for violating a local ban on burning crop straws.

The local meteorological bureau located the activity after a weather satellite photographed smoke from the blaze.

According to a local regulation, the act of burning straw or stalks densely populated districts is illegal.
