A training base teaching handicapped people how to cultivate flowers and plants has been set up in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu.

Set up on August 18, the base covering 13 hectares boasts multimedia classrooms and modern flower-cultivating fields.

For each training session, 40 handicapped people in Wenjiang will receive free training pertaining to theory and practical skills, according to Zhang Li, a leading official with the district party committee.

Upon completion of the training courses, excellent trainees will be recommended for jobs, she said.
