Victim so easy to con, swindlers give up

A man became entangled in an ongoing scam after buying some health care products in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province, Qianjiang Evening News reported.

Members of a scamming group called the man pretending to be individuals including a hospital chief, a tutor, a medical rep and an accountant to con money from him. He was so easy to fool that the swindlers ran out of excuses and stopped calling.

The man paid up 14 times and lost 545,000 yuan ($88,959) over four months. He said he'd realized it was a scam after he'd spent 70,000 yuan, but was curious as to how far the scam would go.
