Speaking to China Daily, Australia’s Ambassador to China, Dr Geoff Raby revealed his nation’s intention to continue developing a mutually respectful and win-win relationship between the two nations.

At the time of the interview the drama surrounding mining giant Rio Tinto had not yet fully broken out though Dr Raby implied that his nation’s business community wanted to remain open to Chinese investment.

Concerning China’s 60th anniversary he said his nation embraces China with a spirit of hope and optimism and believes its peaceful rise is the best thing that could happen to the Asia Pacific region and he expressed great expectations for the next 2-3 decades of China’s growth thanks to its hard working people.
