Hundreds of same-sex couples waited in line for hours for marriage licenses at the city clerk's office Sunday.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the Marriage Equality Act into law on June 24. The law gives same-sex couples the legal right to marry in the state beginning July 24, and many anxious couples didn't want to waste any time.

To make up for the rush of people, New York City's Office of the City Clerk opened at 8:30 Sunday morning. We talked to some of the excited couples celebrating their first day of marriage.
