Mortar attack in Baghdad kills 3 civilians

Two mortar rounds struck a neighborhood in southern
Baghdad, killing three civilians just moments after gunmen strafed the area with
random fire, police said.
Iraqis inspect wreckage inside a house which
was hit by a mortar shell during an overnight attack in the restive city
of Baquba, northeast of Baghdad. Four people were killed in the attack.

The mortars hit around 11:30 a.m., exploding in a house and another in a
popular market in Dora, police said. The neighborhood, which is a mix of Shiite,
Sunni Arabs and Christians, has been the site of daily bombings and shootings in
recent weeks.
Eleven others were wounded in the mortar attack. No one was injured in the
drive-by shootings.
