Japan readies itself for DPRK's rocket launch

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has set up equipment to monitor the launch of a rocket, indicating it could be fired within hours, South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted its unnamed government official as saying on Saturday. Northern Japanese prefectures have armed forces, police and fire brigade staff on stand by and the military has missile interceptors poised on warships and air force bases. [Agencies]
