The craft of sari making in India has been in decline in recent years as most weavers have been forced to give up for financial reasons. They quit the traditional business to work as laborers as low salaries from weaving were not enough to cover daily needs. Average earnings of a weaver’s family are between 150 and 200 euros per month.
