President sends festive greetings to working people
President Xi Jinping has extended festive greetings and best wishes to the country's working people ahead of the International Workers' Day, which falls on Friday.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, sent the greetings on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.
This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, Xi said, praising the important contributions made by the working people to the cause of the Party and the country.
He expressed hope that working people across the country will vigorously carry forward the spirit of model workers, the working spirit and craftsmanship, work diligently, dedicate themselves to their posts, and demonstrate their role as the main force and their sense of ownership in promoting high-quality economic and social development.
Xi asked Party committees and governments at all levels to earnestly safeguard the lawful rights and interests of workers, make greater efforts to address their most pressing concerns, and encourage them to strive unremittingly for the country's grand goals.
