China ready to work with US to act on new positioning of ties: FM spokesman
China is ready to work with the United States to translate the new positioning of bilateral relations into actions of meeting each other halfway, and jointly promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US relations, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Thursday.
Guo made the remarks at a regular news briefing after the two heads of state reached consensus during their meeting earlier in the day on building a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability.
The new positioning will provide strategic guidance for bilateral ties over the next three years and beyond, Guo said.
The "constructive strategic stability" should be a positive stability with cooperation as the mainstay, a sound stability with moderate competition, a constant stability with manageable differences, and an enduring stability with promises of peace, Guo said.
