Hostage crisis in Taiyuan

A young woman who was taken hostage by a kidnapper in
downtown Taiyuan city, capital of north China's Shanxi Province cries September 13,2006 after
being rescued by local police. The kidnapper was subdued, and
the woman was slightly injured in one hand. The cause for the kidnapper's
extreme action is still under investigation. [newsphoto]
